Meet ME!
My name is Amie Boakye, and I am a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned dual degrees in Psychology (B.S.) and Political Science (B.A.), with a minor in Spanish and completed extensive coursework in Neuroscience. During my time at UNC, I was a dedicated member of the UNC All-Girl Club Cheer Competition Team and an active organizer with the UNC Chapter of March for Our Lives, advocating for gun violence prevention and systemic reform.
My work is deeply rooted in mental health advocacy—particularly for students and athletes—because of my own lived experiences navigating severe mental health challenges. I’ve authored numerous academic papers and historical analyses exploring the intersection of trauma, policy, and wellness, with a strong focus on equity and reform.
Beyond the classroom, I’m passionate about service and community care. Whether it’s organizing, volunteering, or writing handwritten notes to loved ones, I find joy in lifting others up. I believe in the power of small gestures and bold ideas, and I’m committed to using my voice—and my work—to create a more just, empathetic world.
